Welcome to the final edition of the AD Navigation Insider for 2023.

The last few months have seen a lot of activity, our engineers are flat out building equipment to meet the Panama Canal directive. Meanwhile our R&D team have been finalizing a very exciting berthing aid system for an offshore project. Sales and Marketing team have been out presenting and exhibiting at conferences in South Korea, Perth, Amsterdam, Fort Lauderdale. Our training team has been offshore for pilot training and commissioning work.

So for now, grab a coffee, strap in and read on while we share some of our latest journeys…

Offshore oil and gas work continues to keep us busy. Collaboration with Kongsberg Maritime Pte on an FPSO project to be stationed off Angola is nearing completion with FAT due early 2024. Meantime we’ve been to the Philippines to commission equipment and train pilots at the PHLNG terminal in use of our XR2 system and Qastor 3. RTK corrections ensuring high accuracy in docking. Pilotage de la Seine recently posted an interesting example demonstrating the independence of an XR2 set with SEAiq in a moving a floating dock from Bassin au Bois, Rouen to Bassin St Gervais. Check their LinkedIn page for video. Our SPU-100 distributed by SAL Navigation www.salnavigation.com is designed to exceed the requirements for the Panama Canal directive and has rapidly gained traction and approval with many large ship owners. Fully compliant with SafePilot, SEAiq, Qastor, OrcaX, expect to see these units on ships soon. Pilots at the Tasmanian Port Authority have been giving the XR2 and Qastor 3 a work out as they transit under narrow bridges with little room to spare.

The last quarter of the year saw a lot of travel, commissioning activity and conferences. At the Perth conference our Director – Sales and Marketing received an award from the AMPI executive for support at contribution to conferences. Our Australasian distribution partner Acoustic Imaging provided a detailed analysis of the collaboration undertaken with KiwiRail, OMC, and Navigatus on the CookStrait InterIslander Ferry (iRex) project.

ISPO in Amsterdam hosted by Loodswezen enabled an opportunity for a flying visit Head Office in Tonsberg Norway, and to meet with the QPS team near Rotterdam. December saw us wrap up the last conference of the year with a presentation and panel discussion at NavTech inFlorida, where tech committee pilots from all over US andCanada came together for two days of technical debate. Dinner above with friends from San Francisco, VirginiaBeach, Long Beach, QPS and AD Nav.
