Welcome to our first edition of the AD Navigation Insider. Its hard to believe that we are at the end of the first quarter 2023!
We are excited to bring you an insight of projects we’ve been engaged with and to welcome new Ports, Pilot Groups, and Offshore Oil and Gas Industry clients to the AD Navigation family.

Our Offshore work has certainly kept our development and technical teams on their toes. A Berthing Aid System to monitor dynamic movement of FPSO and Shuttle Tankers was delivered for a new-build facility, spread moored in 120m water depth, located on the Mauritania and Senegal maritime border approximately 40km off the West coast of Africa.

Meanwhile, another Berthing Aid System was delivered to support a side by side mooring operation, this time an FSRU enabling import of Natural Gas to an onshore power station, expected to support power generation of up to 3000MW to Bangladesh.

The project involved collaboration between teams in Houston, Norway NZ. Singapore and the offshore Bangladesh team. Currently underway, another Berthing Aid System to be deployed on an FPSO to be located offshore from Angola on Africa’s West Coast, working with a Singapore based engineering team.

Growth of XR2 systems across ports and pilot groups in NZ and Australia in particular has been remarkable. In the last few months we’ve welcomed Port of Otago, Fremantle Pilots, TasPorts, Pilbara Ports Authority—Port Hedland to the XR2 user family, thanks to the dedicated and concerted efforts of our Australasian distributor, Acoustic Imaging. Ravenna Pilots, Port of Venice, NamPorts also among the many new groups we have recently welcomed to the XR2 user family.

Travel has gotten off to a good start, after a hectic conference program last year. IMPA Cancun was sensational, pent up travel desires of many leant to an exceptional conference. The effects of the global pandemic felt by a few subsequently, however a great way to reconnect with friends an associates.

This followed by an amazing American Pilots Association conference, thanks once again to the team at Charleston Pilots for being incredible hosts. Edinburgh played host to us in September for the UKMPA conference. Meanwhile Auckland was venue of choice for the New Zealand Maritime Pilots Conference in November.

NavTech in Seattle rounded out the year, we exhibited and took part in a discussion panel moderated by Capt. Jorge Viso. 2023 started with the AMPI Conference in Hobart was all about Building Resilient Pilotage, and we were able to share our experience with the Jamming and Spoofing testing undertaken in Andoye, Norway.

We look forward to meeting old friends and new at the next conferences or during our travels across the globe.
