Welcome to our second edition of the AD Navigation Insider. There’s been plenty on at AD Nav, projects, responding to equipment tenders, visiting pilot groups, attending and presenting at conferences, and exciting R&D initiatives. Put your feet up, grab a cuppa and let us fill you in on what’s been going on.

Offshore oil and gas work is keeping us busy. Each project a little different from the next in terms of engineering requirements. We paid our first commissioning visit to an FPSO project destined for waters off Senegal/Mauritania and will be returning for another visit soon. A second commissioning visit in planning now, an FSRU off the Bangladesh Coast. Another FPSO project well underway and destined for the West African coast Partnering with SAL Navigation, our solution to meet the Panama Canal Directive for Neo Panamax vessels is in final testing and evaluation stages. SAL Navigation provide global distribution, installation, sales and support ”JammerTest” is underway in Andoye Norway. 200 participants from all over the world testing reliability and performance of GNSS equipment under intense jamming, spoofing and meaconing attacks. Once again our XR2 is in the thick of the action. We will share the independent test results soon.

Conferences, commissioning, and client visits. We’ve been racking up the air miles and have a particularly busy next few months planned. We kicked off in April with OTC in Houston, some 40,000 attendees over a period of four days talking all things Oil and Gas. Morten stepped along to a brilliant conference in Rome, the 57th EMPA General Meeting hosted by Fedepiloti. The third Asia Pacific Maritime Pilots Association conference was held in Seoul late August. An excellent opportunity to discuss maximum situational awareness with pilots from all over theAsia Pacific region. AMPI Perth in October is shaping up to be a huge event with many international speakers attending. Topics including Due Diligence in Pilotage, Automation and technology, Pilot Transfer arrangements, and Human Factors. ISPO 2023 is in Amsterdam this year, also in October. This will be a great opportunity to meet with pilots representing the 32 member organizations, representing around 1350 pilots. Navtech this year in Fort Lauderdale, Florida is always well attended by pilots from across NorthAmerica, with engaging debate on latest technologies.
